Appnary is a small team building Shopify apps. Its first app, Vigil, is a security scanner for theme scripts, app embeds and leaked keys, with a waitlist open until Shopify approves the listing.
What is Appnary?
Vigil scans a Shopify store's published theme and app embeds. For each external script it finds, it names the theme file or the app behind it. It also flags leaked keys and reviews staff permission history past 250 events.
A person can turn off a flagged script from the app. In version 1 it does not uninstall other apps by itself. The same findings can be run from an AI agent over MCP. Vigil is not yet on the Shopify App Store, so access is by waitlist until Shopify approves the listing. Appnary also lists two later apps, Sync for moving catalog and order data between stores and Backup for store backup and restore, each with its own waitlist.
Who is Appnary for?
Shopify merchants and agencies who want to know which scripts and apps run on a store and whether any keys have leaked. It also suits people who prefer to run checks through an AI agent. It is not installable yet, and version 1 does not cover customer records or order contents.
