What is Egmatic?

Egmatic is a visual editor for 2D games. Game mechanics are built in a node-based editor by connecting nodes and defining behaviors. Scenes are designed by dragging and dropping objects, setting up physics and watching changes in a real-time preview, so there is no wait for builds.

The editor saves its output as versioned JSON. A separate runtime engine, built on .NET 9 and MonoGame 3.8, reads that JSON through defined contracts and runs it. One project can be published to Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. The makers' llms.txt also lists planned ship-layer features: analytics, monetization, player accounts, cloud saves and leaderboards. The editor is pre-alpha with no release date, and early access runs through a waitlist.

Who is Egmatic for?

Solo developers and micro-teams who want to make and publish 2D games without writing code or running a backend. It suits early adopters willing to follow a pre-alpha build and send feedback. Teams that need a finished, released editor today will have to wait.
